In the middle of the policy term, only newborns or a newlywed spouse may be added to a policy, only if it is an ESC or ESCP policy.
When to add a newborn
A newborn can only be added if
- within 30 days of birth, and
- your account has sufficient CD balance
How to add a newborn
- Select benefit type from the benefits menu on the top-left side of your dashboard
- Select ‘Manage dependents’ from the drop-down menu beside the employee’s name
- Click on ‘Add new dependent’ and enter the newborn’s actual name
- If you do not have the newborn’s actual name, you may enter a proxy name and edit when you have the necessary details. Eg:- Baby of Diganth, or Baby One of Diganth and Baby Two of Diganth if the employee has had twins
- After addition, it might take a couple of minutes for the new dependent to show up on the dashboard
- Once the Health ID is generated, it will be added to the dashboard. This should occur within 72 hours of newborn addition
How and when to edit a newborn’s name
- You may edit the newborn’s name only post-Health ID generation when it appears in the dependent section
Note: Avoid re-addition if the name hasn’t appeared as this would create a duplicate entry or second dependent.
